WHAT IS A PEARL FARM?
A pearl farm is a licensed ocean site where oysters are raised, seeded and carefully nurtured until their pearls are ready for harvest. These farms are typically located in remote, unpolluted bays with clean, warm, nutrient-rich tropical waters.
South Sea pearls are cultivated in Pinctada maxima, the world's largest pearl-producing oyster. Exceptionally sensitive to changes in water quality, these oysters can only thrive in healthy marine ecosystems. Their wellbeing is a direct reflection of the ocean around them, making every successful pearl farm a testament to a clean and protected environment.
OUR FARMS
At AUTORE Group, every South Sea pearl begins its journey in one of the world's most pristine marine environments. As a fully vertically integrated pearl company, we oversee every stage of the process; from cultivating oysters on our own pearl farms through to grading each pearl and crafting it into fine jewellery in our Sydney headquarters.
AUTORE Group operates South Sea pearl farms along the remote coastline of Australia, including Broome and East Arnhem Land, as well as across Indonesia in Lombok, Sumbawa and West Java.
sustainability
For more than three decades, sustainability has been fundamental to the way The AUTORE Group farms pearls.
Because a pearl can only be as healthy as the ocean in which it grows, protecting marine ecosystems is not simply part of our business, it is the foundation of it.
Our pearl farms are certified sustainable and operate under strict environmental standards that protect both the oysters and the surrounding marine habitats.
As a vertically integrated company, The AUTORE Group maintains complete oversight of every stage of production, ensuring exceptional quality, full traceability and responsible environmental practices from farm to finished jewellery.
